This season, the mega brand returns to showcase exciting collections from Kimberly-born Thebe Magugu, MMUSOMAXWELL, winner of the 2018 New Talent Search, Johannesburg creative Wanda Lephoto and street stylers, The Watermelon Social Club.
THEBE MAGUGU is a South African fashion brand, primarily operating within the field of women’s ready to wear, while having a firm footing in accessories and small multidisciplinary projects. Magugu, born and raised in Kimberley, is inspired by the women who played important roles in his life. He studied Fashion & Apparel Design at LISOF Fashion School in Johannesburg and has always explored the disparity between masculinity & femininity, tradition & experiment, overlarge & abridged and other differences in the design of his garments. Wanda Lephoto is a ready-to-wear brand, founded in 2016 out of the need to tell stories.
Finding its inspiration from traditional cultural practices and modern subculture styles, Wanda Lephoto aims to fuse stories creating cultural hybrids to communicate rarely-explored contexts, impacting the future of creative story-telling.

MMUSOMAXWELL is a womenswear fashion brand based in Johannesburg, South Africa, founded in 2016 by Maxwell Boko and Mmuso Potsane.
The duo connected through the program, ‘The Intern by David Tlale’. Having similar interests, views and design dynamics, they then decided to join forces to strengthen their aesthetic and amplify the voice of their brand.
In October 2017, the pair showcased their autumn/ winter collection at SA Fashion Week, where they were crowned winners of the SAFW New Talent Search designer competition. read more here.
THE WATERMELON SOCIAL CLUB
The Watermelon Social Club, founded in 2016 by Sthembiso Mchunu and Siyabonga Ngcamu, is a brand that encompasses the elements of athleisure and street wear to produce a fuse of ‘street-savvy rebellion’.
The prints and unisex silhouettes are influenced by the designers’ love and interest in both the local and global street wear culture.
Their goal is to redefine this fashion cult phenomenon, through creating dialogue and designing collections that solidify who they are and strengthens the consistency of their brand – which aims to be timeless and effortless.
